This month, Sol Gabetta will perform throughout Germany. Her first series of performances is a tour with violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, beginning on November 15th in Bremen with a program that features Kodály’s Duo for Violin and Cello, Op.7, Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello, and J.S Bach’s Fifteen Two-Part Inventions, BWV 772-786. The duo will perform in Bremen, Münster, Dresden, Hannover and Cologne.
Sol will then join the SWR Symphony Orchestra and Giovanni Antonini for two performances, in Stuttgart and Wiesloch – on November 23rd and 24th respectively – of the Concerto for Cello in A minor, Op. 129 by Robert Schumann.
The month concludes with a concert with pianist Bertrand Chamayou at the Berlin Philharmonie. Mendelssohn’s Variations Concertantes, Op. 17 and Sonate for Cello and Piano in D major, Op. 58, as well as Johannes Brahms’ Sonate für Violoncello und Klavier Nr. 2 in F major, Op. 99 are all on the program.
