In April, Sol performs concerts in France and Germany. Her first engagement takes place in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées where she performs a programme of Mendelssohn (Variations concertantes in D major, op. 17), Brahms (Sonate für Klavier und Violoncello Nr. 1 in e‐Moll, op. 38) and Franck (Sonata for Cello and Piano in A Major) with pianist Nelson Goerner. Ms. Gabetta then returns to the Berlin Philharmonie for Elgar’s Violoncellokonzert e-Moll with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under the baton of Patrick Hahn, then reunites with her chamber music partner, pianist Bertrand Chamayou, to perform works by Felix Mendelssohn, Heinz Holliger, Wolfgang Rihm and Francisco Coll at the Kultur-und Kongresszentrum in Luzern. Ms. Gabetta concludes the month with two performances of Saint-Saens’ Konzert für Violoncello und Orchester Nr. 2 d-Moll op. 119 in Bern Casino with the Berner Symphonieorchester conducted by Maestro Mario Venzago.
