May Performances
In May, Sol embarks on a tour of Germany and Italy with Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under the baton of Maestro Paavo Järvi. On the program is Haydn’s Sinfonie Nr. 93 D-Dur Hob I:93 and Sinfonie Nr. 104 D-Dur Hob I:104, as well as Schumann’s Konzert für Violoncello und Orchester a-Moll op. 129. The tour begins with three performances in Bremen, followed by Hannover, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Turin, and Reggio Emilia.
Sol then returns to Switzerland for the second edition of Presenza. As artistic director of the festival, she has programmed two concerts with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana conducted by Maestro Markus Poschner. The programme on 27th May also features violinist Isabelle Faust and includes the overture from Weber’s Der Freischütz op. 77, Schumann’s Concerto per violino e orchestra in re minore WoO 23, and Brahms’ Concerto per violino, violoncello e orchestra in la minore op. 102. The programme on 28th May includes excerpts from Beethoven’s Le Creature di Prometeo and Schumann’s Concerto per violoncello e orchestra in la minore op. 129.
To end her series of concerts for the month of May, Sol returns to the Philharmonie de Paris to perform Shostakovitchs’ Suite pour orchestre de jazz n° 2 and Concerto pour violoncelle n° 2, followed by Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast. Klaus Mäkelä conducts the Orchestre de Paris.
