This autumn, Sol Gabetta embarks on an exciting series of concerts across Asia, joining forces with two outstanding musical personalities: violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja and conductor Giovanni Antonini.
From Taipei and Shanghai to Tokyo, Yokohama, Seoul and Hong Kong, the tour brings together contrasting musical worlds.
With Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Sol Gabetta explores a fascinating chamber music programme. Works by Bach, Leclair, Ravel, Ligeti, Xenakis and Kodály meet contemporary musical voices, including Jörg Widmann and Kopatchinskaja herself. Full of contrasts, unexpected encounters and expressive intensity, the programme celebrates the adventurous spirit of chamber music.
The journey continues in Japan with Giovanni Antonini and the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. In Tokyo and Yokohama, Sol Gabetta performs Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129, framed by two of Mozart’s most dramatic symphonies: No. 25 and No. 40 in G minor.
